Changes to the publication of information on the Supporting People Website
As part of its Service Transformation commitments, the Government has sought, since 2006 to streamline the publication of information across its websites. All
Departments have been asked to limit the publication of public-facing corporate
information to one website. In order to comply with these requirements we have
decided to publish key national information about Supporting People on the
Communities and Local Government (CLG) website from April 2010.

Safeguarding Procedure - Important Information
The Supporting People (SP) team has a Duty of Care to the service users supported within its services. The contracts therefore place a duty on providers to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and vulnerable adults. As part of that requirement services need to demonstrate they are being delivered effectively, in accordance with contract specification and that they meet the needs of service users.
More specifically, providers are obliged to adhere to the multi agency Nottingham City and Nottinghamshire Safeguarding Children Board Child Protection procedures and the Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Safeguarding Adults policy, procedure and guidance.

*IMPORTANT INFORMATION* VFM Implementation Plan
At a meeting held on 26th January 2009, the Commissioning Body approved a plan to reduce expenditure within the Supporting People programme to a level which will be within anticipated resources, over 4 years. As you will be aware, the grant received by the County Council to fund the programme is subject to a significant reduction this year and next year. This has resulted in the Supporting People Team having to plan how it will make the necessary savings over the coming years, starting 2010/2011 and thereafter.
