The first full Supporting People Strategy was a five year strategy which came to an end in March 2010. A three year strategy was developed to replace this and to set out the strategic priorities for 2010-2013.
“Our vision is that there are sufficient and suitable housing related support services for vulnerable people so that they can live independently and contribute to, and benefit from, a safer, stronger, healthier and more prosperous Nottinghamshire”
The strategy recognises the significant challenges ahead of the pressures on local government spending (although it could not have taken account of the impact of the budgetary or policy decisions of the new coalition government), the need to personalise Supporting People services, maintaining strong partnerships and maintaining safe and high quality services.
